You really are a fan of Boeing…!
Meh… one, the B-29 likely wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t for the B-17, and two, don’t the B-47 and B-52 enter in that story as well?
Fun fact: The left thrust lever of the ATR-42 and 72 is wider than the right for two reasons:
- The left engine is the critical engine in the case of twin-engine propeller aircraft with both propellers rotating clockwise like the ATR
- When the ATR was first designed, AerItalia was tasked with building the fuselage and Aerospatiale was in charge of the rest of the aircraft. AerItalia decided to use parts already found on their existing aircraft in the ATR, specifically the AerItalia G.222. It was thought at the time that there was no need to reinvent power and condition levers for the ATR because of that; however it was later discovered that due to the narrower fuselage of the ATR compared to the G.222, the condition and thrust levers would be too close to each other; and since the pilots should be able to move either the thrust or condition levers without moving the other, it was decided that part of the throttle for the right engine would be removed on the horizontal axis to ensure that there was adequate space between the two.
Yep, exactly what I meant.
OCD bruh moment.
The C-17 has the widest fuselage of any plane made by McDonnell Douglas
fun fact: planes land at airports
the navy doesnt think so
harrison ford doesn’t think runways are real
Guys I recently found out that there are more aircraft in the sea, than there are submarines in the sky
Although all of FedEx’s factory fresh 767-300F’s do not have winglets, there are several examples in the fleet which used to, such as N68077:
It kinda looks better with the winglets, yet cool that they don’t
No
Lufthansa’s and Condor’s registrations seem to follow a pattern:
D-AB**: Boeing
D-AC**: Bombardier (Candadair)
D-AD**: Douglas
D-AE**: Embraer
D-AI**: Airbus
D-AL**: Freighter (According to Google, “Cargo” translates to “Ladung”)
Lufthansa’s DC-10s, unlike most aircraft families per airline, switched their penultimate registration letter, rather than their last. For example, while their A380s are registered D-AIM*, their DC-10s were registered as D-AD*O
I thought Norwegian died lol
