The ban on auto’s and taxi’s has been lifted. They will now be regulated and will be operated by private companies only. Auto and Taxi union’s have been banned because they cause a lot of trouble when it comes to development and construction and implementation of better rapid and bus transit systems. App based cabs like OLA and UBER will remain banned. Fares will be charged per passenger.
Fares :
Auto - 30 rupees for 2km and 5 rupees per kilometer
Taxi - 50 rupees for 2km and 15 rupees per kilometer
Fares can only be paid via the CHALO NCMC card.
Diesel, CNG, Petrol and LPG autos will remain banned. Only electric auto’s like the Mahindra TREO, the Piaggio Ape E-City and the Kinetic Safar Smart will be allowed to operate. All auto’s need to have doors like the ones in the pictures. They must have a board on top to indicate occupancy. And they need to be hard top (metal roof and body instead of cloth roof and metal body).

Taxi’s should have yellow roofs, front and back. The doors and side can be of any colour. Only SUV’s can be used for operating taxi services and the cars must have a minimum Global NCAP rating of 3 stars.
Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova Crysta, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun are recommended.

The CHALO NCMC card has become the official method for paying public transit fares, air and rail tickets. It can also be used for paying at transit stores and at shops at airports, rail and metro stations. It is directly linked to your bank account from any of these banks : Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI, HSBC and ICICI Bank. More banks will be connected later. Foreign banks will also be connected. The cards are also UPI enabled. RuPay, VISA, MasterCard and American Express can also be used as payment gateway’s. The cards can be bought at any Bus depot, metro station, tram depot, airport and railway station for ₹70 and then activated at a connected bank. The cards have a city based branding (like the one in the pic has the Mumbai branding), with each city being different and unique. Prepaid cards are also available which need to be recharged when the balance is exhausted. Prepaid cards can be recharged by giving them to the Bus conductors or at metro and tram ticket counters/ETM’s. They can also be recharged through the CHALO app using UPI. The CHALO app can also be used to buy the card. Each card will also have the name of holder, card number and CVV codes like credit/debit cards. They can also have branding of bank membership status like YesBank Platinum etc.

The UK Police Force have ordered 10 Viper Drones. These will be mobilised to be able to find things more effectively in peoples homes.
