The Indian currency notes have been redesigned, being modelled after the US Dollar bank notes. Also all coins will have braille markings on both sides and notes will have the denominations written in special print and symbols for the blind. The changes :- Coins :

  2. ₹2 - ā€˜V’ symbol made with index and middle finger with 2 written to its left, The Lion Capital on the other. Silver in colour.
  3. ₹5 - A symbol with all five fingers of the hand extended on one side with 5 written to it’s left, Ashoka Chakra on the other. Bronze-ish in colour.
  4. ₹10 - 10 written on one side in large font and the Ashoka Chakra on the other. Bronze-ish in colour.
  5. ₹20 - 20 written on one side in large font and the Ashoka Chakra on the other. Bronze-ish on the outline and silver in the middle.
  6. ₹50 - 50 written on one side in large font and the Ashoka Chakra on the other. Bronze-ish on the outline and silver in the middle. .

The other side will have ā€œ100 RUPEESā€ written in all Indian languages with a script and the Jantar Mantar instead of the Konark Sun Temple.
  3. ₹200 - Two tone orange notes like the current ones with 100 written on all four corners with Veer Savarkar’s portrait instead of Gandhi on one side. The other side will have ā€œ100 RUPEESā€ written in all Indian languages with a script and the Srirangam Temple instead of the Sanchi Stupa.
  4. ₹500 - Two tone notes like the current ones with 100 written on all four corners with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s portrait instead of Gandhi on one side. The other side will have ā€œ100 RUPEESā€ written in all Indian languages with a script and the Chandrayaan instead of the Red Fort.
  5. ₹2000 - Two tone notes like the current ones with 2000 written on all four corners with Bhagat Singh’s portrait instead of Gandhi on one side. The other side will have ā€œ2000 RUPEESā€ written in all Indian languages with a script and the Mangalyaan like the current notes.

The Coastguard attended to an incident today involving 12 fishing boats registered in France fishing in UK waters. All fish caught were seized and will be sold in UK fish shops.

So far, there were 3000 fish noted across 8 ships currently at port and 200 crabs- amongst the same 8 ships.

2 more boats are expected to arrive tonight and a further 2 refused to divert to the UK so are currently anchored and grounded at sea.
