You feel the power of those engines 
because if so boeing would not have created the MAX or anything of the sort
meaning that the technology of aircraft would be stuck in the 60’s
which would be bad for one of the most used methods of point to point travel
A.k.a not even officially used in service yet despite being in development since 2010 (or '06 if we’re counting when the A320E family was being researched).

That’s one of the points of first class though. It’s like that on literally every plane. Not that I’d know, I fly in scum class.
Not any plane with wing mounted engines
The MD-80 was deafening in economy though, where people who aren’t about to drop $1200 on a flight from ATL-DCA or DFW-IAH.
And the 737 Classic is far superior.
If the back of the MD-80 is that bad, imagine the back of a 727…
