No, minimum thrust for 737max is 26786lb
Thrust for A320neo (not 319 or 321) is 27120lb
So there is a possibility, I repeat, possibility, that the A320neo could be more powerful.

but the airline could as well choose the 29,000lbf engine (if thatās the case). Also Iām pretty sure the 26,786lbf engine is the MAX 7 one, not the MAX 8 one. Wikipedia could be stating the least powerful engine (for the MAX 7) and the most powerful one (for the MAX 10)
There is something called derated thrust
You know what thereās also on the A320neo? FLEX THRUST!
And yes it could also apply to A32N
But they use TOGA to get out of hot and high and short runways
Oh and Flaps 3
So do MAX crews
Flaps 15 or 20 go brrr
So the A320neo is not underpowered either, letās face it
They just donāt wanna force the plane under normal circumstances
But, straight from the data the A321neo beats the largest MAX by quite a lot
Hereās an A320neo short take-off for you, not trying to compare it to the MAX, just letting you see its runway performance
What?! SNA only uses 2 for 5,700ft
Iāve seen 3 and TOGA on even shorter runways
For example SBRJ
737MAX beautiful
A320neo ugly
A321neo ok
I donāt understand this
Sort of agree
Agree
Agree
The normal A320neo is sort of disproportionate, but the A321neo looks fine.
A319neo be like:
I know because of the huge engines ![]()
non-existent A318neo
