Air Tahiti Nui flight 288, operated by a two year old Boeing 787-9, struck a bus upon takeoff. The bus was crossing RW06 without permission and the plane’s engine #1 struck the bus at almost 95 knots. Of the 92 people on board the bus, 87 were killed. The plane’s (F-OVAA) engine was seriously damaged from the collision. The plane will be repaired at BCIA. Luckily, no one onboard the plane was injured. As a temporary replacement, Air Tahiti Nui is borrowing one of Bogland Airlines’ Boeing 787-9s to operate the route.

I don’t think I want to fly your airline
.
@Ethan’s airline is safer
Yes, definitely
It’s funny how you admit it
I mean, Bogland Airlines wasn’t at fault. It was another airline operating the bus.
Due to a medical emergency, American Airlines flight 128 has diverted to Tokyo Central. The original flight was flying from Shanghai Pudong to Dallas Fort Worth, but an elderly passenger suddenly had a stroke. She is alive and well at St. Luke’s International Hospital in downtown Tokyo.
At least one of our airports had a happy ending to an emergency
Air China to pull out of Tokyo Central
Bogland Intl has restarted flights after the bus accident. F-OVAA has been towed to a remote gate to await repairments. Most of the passengers were transferred to an awaiting Bogland Airlines Boeing 787-9 (BC-VBK) to complete the flight. BC-VBK will be operating on behalf of Air Tahiti Nui until F-OVAA is repaired. Other passengers who refused to fly were temporarily moved to an airport hotel or went home.
As part of the agreement, Bogland Airlines has given Air Tahiti Nui permission to temporarily repaint and re-register the aircraft. BC-VBK will be repainted into the Air Tahiti Nui livery and re-registered to F-OREA and renamed to “Ahe”.
The plane will be repainted in Papeete on March 1st.
what
I’m just CEO of the airport. Thalia Fornia is CEO of Bogland Airlines.
F-OVAA has been examined and severe damage to the right main landing gear, leading edge slats, right elevator, and inboard flap has been observed, along with minor damage to the flaperon, wingtip, engine mounting and outboard flap. While the plane is likely to be repaired, its fate is uncertain. Its replacement, BC-VBK/F-OREA, will likely be with ATN for a couple of months.
New service announcement! After a recent aquisition of a United A319, service to Bogland, Houston, Dulles, and Orlando have been announced. Bogland: March 11, 2021, Houston: March 15, 2021, Dulles: March 20, 2021, Orlando: March 29, 2021!
Air Tahiti Nui flight 218, operated by the loaned F-OREA, suffered a tire burst upon takeoff at about 145 knots. The plane returned to BCIA and after a speedy repair, was back in the air, only 1:30 delayed. The cause of the tirebust was likely from a crack in the runway, caused by the 8.2 earthquake that occurred 19 days ago. Passengers onboard reported feeling a large bump and a muffled popping noise when going over the runway’s drawbridge,
lmao
the replacement had a accident
