Fun fact:
American Trans Air was the worlds first Airline to introduce winglets on the Boeing 737.
Wasn’t it Hapag-Lloyd?
Yes I was wondering too
Nope. ATA.
Fun fact: During 11:00pm and 6:00am local time, Sydney Airport uses 34L for landings and 16R for departures due to a curfew that is put in place for security reasons. It’s basically the same runway for takeoffs and landings. What’s interesting is that many Australian airports have such operating curfews for security reasons.
But… they’re the same runway…
Edit: they are using the same runway for departures and arrivals.
@PlanesAndGames they are not using 16L after all.

Unlike commercial aviation, naval aviation do not flare on carrier landings. That’s because their landing gears have heavy weight, allowing them to slam hard onto carrier deck.
Flaring = float
Can’t float on a 400-500 foot strip
Fun fact: the reason why so many Soviet aircraft and a few Western ones have green cockpits was because scientists found out that the colour reduced stress and kept the pilot aware/effective during long flights.
It looks like a tacky piece of Chinese made childrens toys
Now tell me why airbus is blue
Exactly
The Eurofighter Typhoon is actually manufactured in a joint company
Actually the DC9 has it too
The Tu-22 Blinder (Soviet bomber) literally used vodka as coolant
It’s the Soviets, of course
Fun fact: Virgin Atlantic has 266 seats on its A330-200s, while it only has 264 on the larger A330-300.
The 737-200 is equivalent to the E195 in capacity and range (+600km/300nm), and the 737-100 is equivalent to the E190 in capacity (but much less range) (-2000km/1000nm)
