Classic Aviation Debate

Never seen so many Northwest in one place before.

MSP and DTW used to be so great.

Don’t get me wrong. MSP is still great, but Northwest made it better.

If it is the DC-9 it’s probably a -50 because it’s pretty long. My guess is MD-80.

Yeah I think it’s the MD-80
But the engines look like the DC-9. And the windshield with the paint looks more like the DC-9 shape.

You didn’t say what you think it is.
So can you tell the difference? :joy:

What “I think” it is? It IS an MD-80

  1. Not really (look the 727)
  2. Both of them use JT8Ds, what are you expecting? :joy:

The MD-80 is a pencil and has slightly bigger engines

They have the same nose, so no wonder a “DC-9” livery will look the same on the MD-80

77L and 752 top

Even the A330/340 are more “classic” than that.

What about the A340-300 :skull:

Unless you also consider the A380 as a classic, that’s not a classic

Might want to read the topic title

Yes, I said it. The A320 is a classic compared to the 77L. It came out almost 20 years before the latter.

A220 is the most classic airliner, by far

Yes, and the Wright Flyer is the most modern aircraft. Of course.
