World Flying Community Off-Topic Discussion (Part 18)

Reveal your secrets…

Has anyone ever flown on Blade? Been thinking about flying from EWR to JFK on a helicopter.

they literally had their biggest day ever a month ago lol. OG map came back so I had 2 as well

Right now, three, though two of them are dead, scattered across two different fields about 100mi from each other.

1995 Subaru Legacy (RallyX race car): Dead, in a field outside GJ

  • Engine not in car, in the process of rebuilding it in my dorm

2003 Subaru Legacy (was my do-it-all): Dead, in a field outside Rifle

  • Engine is in car, technically still runs though not road worthy

2000 Toyota Tacoma (current daily): Working, in the lot outside my dorm

In total, I’ve owned nine cars, though five have been buy and sell. The remaining one, the 1999 Explorer, I traded with my dad for the '03 Subaru.

Oh, interesting. Impreza when? How did both of them die in a field though? Or did you just place them there?

Btw, what’s your favorite/dream car?

@AIDAN101 You’ve flown on Alaska right?

Yep, they’re the only airline/air group I’ve been on to date

Oh nice. I might fly with them next summer. Can you guess where?

I’m going to guess it involves Seattle (SEA) or Portland (PDX)

No, lol.

Look at the airline’s name.

Oh I see now, where are you getting to Alaska on Alaska from?

That’s just where I’m storing them. The '95 locked up the engine in a canyon while I was trying to get to a bike race (I was having to drive it because I lost a rod bearing in my '03). The '03 didn’t die, but the new-ish engine I had put in after the first failure in August lost a rod bearing as well, so that engine isn’t much longer for this world.

I’m hoping to buy an '80s MR2 when I get out of college.

Probably going to do JFK-ANC. MAX 8 I’m pretty sure.

I can also do JFK-SFO (or PDX, LAX, SEA, SAN, etc)-ANC, but I’m not too sure about that one.

Yep the MAX 8 I believe is the only one being used for that, and the first of which is coming either late this year or early next year so you should be in for some pretty fresh MAX 8s by summer

Hmm, interesting. Are you ever going to fix them?

Pretty cool.

This one’s my favorite, I think it looks really cool ngl.

Wait, they don’t have any yet?

No MAX 8s yet but very soon

They’ve been parading the MAX 9s around for a couple of years now

The race car is about a month or two out from having the engine we’re building dropped in (our season starts in March so we need to be ready for that). My '03 I’m going to rebuild over the summer. I know exactly what parts I need so I’ll order them and I can rebuild the engine in about a day.

Nice. I hope they’ll have WiFi. Didn’t they not care to fit the MAX 9s with WiFi after getting them delivered?

All MAX 9s of theirs in service have WiFi, so do the NGs. So naturally the MAX8s should have WiFi when they enter service

And if they don’t they should be retrofitted in the near future, as they have it done after they get the aircraft from Boeing
