I sure do love Google Translate… (Not my pictures.)
Essentially, Google Translate is able to translate romanized Chinese - but only if it’s uncapitalized.
Whatever’s placed after a capital letter, it can’t recognize as a transliteration - and so can’t convert it back to standard Traditional/Simplified Chinese characters.
Surely something that hasn’t been completely thought through when the system was being programmed.
Also, 長沙 (Chángshā), the capital of Hunan Province in China, has transliterated as Zhǎngsha - the thing is, as with many Chinese characters, there is more than one way to pronounce 長, depending on context. In the case of the city, it’s supposed to be Cháng - not Zhǎng - but apparently that’s not the case when you attempt to Google Translate it.
