Because it’s superior in every way.
For better multitasking. It doesn’t affect the sim at all, but it allows you to split screen with other programs.

It just annoys and triggers me, basically.
Sure, it might be easier, but the “longer” way is more comfortable for me, lol.
It functions the same as the full, non-changable version, except you don’t have to risk losing you flight by using the esc key.
Just give it a shot. You can change it in XP11 settings > graphics > simulator window type > windowed full screen.
