Following its 24 hour closure, Bogland Capital Airport has reopened to passengers. The airport had been closed for maintenance and upgrades, with the old airport having 19 gates. The new airport now has 39 gates spanning two decks. Yes, the airport now spans two decks: the lower deck with 20 gates and the upper deck with 19 gates. The old airport (which is now the upper deck) still hosts many flights, offering mostly widebody services to Asia and Oceania. The lower deck also hosts many widebody flights, but offers cargo and passenger service to Asia, Oceania, Europe, South America, and Africa. Due to the runway being on the upper deck, aircraft are transported between the two decks on two our state of the art aircraft elevator. The elevators, which travel around 900 feet between the two decks, can carry even the largest of aircraft; the elevator platform measuring 400 feet by 400 feet. The trip between the two platforms take around six minutes. The first aircraft that arrived into the new airport was Hawaiian Airlines flight 106 from Hilo to Bogland via Los Angeles.

Along with this, China Airlines has countered this and has plans to expand their flights to Taipei with new Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A350-900 equipment, as well as stationing several of their Airbus A321neos for approved short haul Bogland interisland service.

Several other airlines, such as Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Vietnam Airlines have also expressed interest in expanding or starting service to Bogland. Cathay Pacific has considering starting two more daily flights from Bogland to Hong Kong, with one stopping over at New York and the other at Los Angeles, utilising their Boeing 747-400s. Malaysia Airlines is also considering an additional flight connecting Bogland to Kuala Lumpur with a stopover in Honolulu using their Boeing 777-200ER, adding to their current three daily flights. Singapore Airlines is also considering a service from Bogland to Singapore via Honolulu using their Boeing 777-300ER equipment, adding a sixth daily flight. Vietnam Airlines has great interest in starting service from Bogland to Saigon and Hanoi, with quadweekly flights to Saigon and triweekly flights to Hanoi, all of which will have a stopover in San Francisco using their Airbus A350-900 aircraft. They also have plans similar to China Airlines of using their Airbus A321-200s and Airbus A321neos for short haul interisland service, as well as opening a small crew base for these interisland flights.

Japan Airlines has acquired the last available slot at Bogland Capital International Airport. Starting tomorrow, they will restart their famous Reso’cha service between Bogland and Tokyo Narita via Los Angeles and Honolulu. This flight will be operated under the JALways brand. These flights will be operated daily using their Boeing 747-200 aircraft, operating as JAL063 from Bogland and JAL064 to Bogland. To accompany this, Japan Airlines has opened a JAL Sakura lounge in the international terminal at BCIA for business class, first class, OneWorld sapphire and emerald members, priority pass card holders, and JAL frequent flyers.

Now that Bogland Capital International Airport is at full capacity, the Bogland Airports Group is now looking to replace the airport. Plans have been drawn up for a proposed airport about three miles southeast of where the current airport sits. The new airport would be replacing only the Bogland Capital International Airport, and if this project comes to fruition, the current airport will be closed sometime in early June, with the new airport opening the same day. This closure will not affect services at Bogland East and Bogland West, but highspeed ferry services between the three airports will be provided for connections.
