So I’ve known for months about the JetBlue 25 for 25 thing and they finally got me. No, I’m not doing it, but I thought it would be a fun idea to plan since I had like an hour sitting around.
Click me if you have no idea what I’m talking about
To be honest, I was right and I had no idea how much I’d get into this because I spent like two hours optimizing it but yeah. Felt I needed to share it with people who would be mildly interested so I present my JetBlue 25/25 routing:
My Formatting/Technicalities/Logistics:
Blue = new city
Underlined = hub
All flights (I tried) to do as many as possible in a short of a time and in as little flights as possible. I managed to cover 25 unique destinations in 36 flights.
I also tried to have (at least) 35 minutes between flight (there is one exception of that - the connection in LAS) though both JetBlue gates are directly next to each other so assuming it is on time, so it should realistically be fine. The other “tough” connection would be the NAS turn from Fort Lauderdale. It definitely is makeable considering NAS immigration is so quick and there is usually no security line. However, you would need Global Entry due to it having preclearance, and no way you make it through 2 sets of customs that quickly without it. It still is difficult but probably possible.
Now, my challenge to you:
Can you optimize/do it in less flights? For the purposes of this challenge, it’s the number of flights, not the number of days (although it should be consecutive, with no ferry flights from other airlines, but you may use public transport eg from EWR to LGA within the same area assuming there is enough time to easily make it). (Don’t use Google, as there are some pretty optimal routes there). I did this myself and I want to see how you all can do also! Share your routings below, and feel free to use any of my flights for inspiration.
