Mumbai’s B.E.S.T, Bengaluru’s B.M.T.C and Delhi’s D.T.C will operate fully low floor bus fleets from certain depots on a pilot basis.
B.E.S.T has ordered 800 Wright Streetdeck Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LH hybrid buses, 380 Mercedes Benz Citaro’s, 500 Volvo B8RLE 8400’s, 450 Tata Starbus Hybrid’s, 250 Citrus bodied Ashok Leyland SLF double deckers.
B.M.T.C has ordered 3000 additional Volvo B8RLE’s which will be built by MG Bus&Coach and 1000 Volvo B8L’s which will be built by Wrightbus.
D.T.C will just retire all non low floor buses.
Public transport of Mumbai will be centrally operated by B.E.S.T (yes, the same B.E.S.T which operates buses and trams) which has been remodeled on the lines of TFL, Singapore LTA and Bengaluru BMLTA. B.E.S.T will come under the MMRDA.
All the bus lines, bus contracts, metro lines, metro contracts, taxi and auto services, ferry services, monorail lines, monorail services, tram lines, tram services and road transport infrastructure have been taken over by B.E.S.T.
Buses and trams will be operated by private companies with bus and tram procurement, fleet management, bus and tram depots and vehicle maintenance being handled by B.E.S.T.
Metro lines will be run by MMRDA and MMRC with rolling stock upgradation/overhaul/procurement and building/maintenance of lines being done by B.E.S.T.
Suburban trains will be operated by Indian Railways Central and Western divisions. Train procurement/maintenance/upgradation and building/maintenance of new lines will also be done by the railways. B.E.S.T will collect revenue and fund the suburban rail system.
Auto’s and taxi’s will come under B.E.S.T and be operated and equipped by private operators.
Roadways will be maintained, built and equipped by B.E.S.T and funded by MMRDA.
B.E.S.T has issued tenders for bus operators to operate buses in the city. Current responders :

Yeah, but it will take longer than normal. Our Nagoya plant is basically at max capacity, and our Glendale UT plant can only produce at about 50% of normal due to a fire.

Are you fine with just taking stock ones? I know you’ve had us do a number of offroad modifications in the past, but just due to our production limits that won’t really be possible. We could probably do skid plates for you though (as that’s a factory option on it).
At $14k for each (that’s including $500 on each for engine and rear differential skid plate and the fact that we tack on an extra $1k for military/state orders), you’d total $7,350,000 before processing and taxes. All said and done, you’ll be $7,500,000. Also, depending on how long we’ll have to store them for you may result in added fees. We don’t have enough space to store 525 already sold vehicles as well as the ones we’re staging for shipping/export.
They’ll be produced at our Nagoya plant. If anything changes and we have to produce some in Utah, we’ll let yoy know.

Unfortunately not. We’ve had to cut production of our in-house addons to produce more cars. Your only option would be to produce them yourselves.

We’ll give you permission to reverse engineer what you’ve got on your prior orders. However, this is purely for use within the Indian government. Any attempt to sell our design without sufficient change will result in a lawsuit.
