What our school does is that they only give you summer school if you want to have AP classes. It’s basically a two week extension of school that you have to pay for, and it determines if you’ll be in the smart or dumb class.

They force you to. If you don’t, they put you in the average classes or make you repeat the class you took in the previous grade. So if I didn’t pay for this class, I would be put back into grade 9 biology, when I’m in grade 10.
