World Flying Community Off-Topic Discussion (Part 17)

Not really.
All 777-200ERs are technically 777-200s as the ER is a company designation and not an official Boeing variant. Both have B772 as their ICAO.

However, the 777-300ER is a separate aircraft developed from the 777-300 with various improvements on top of an increased range. The 777-300ER has B77W as its ICAO while it’s B773 for the 777-300.

Temperature is subjective, so one could consider snow hot

Except… they’re not

Otherwise that’d be the same as calling an A350-900ULR simply an A350-900

I guess the same is true for the A350-900ULR then

99% of people that don’t like aviation: can’t we just call it a 777?

But it just technically is. It is the same platform, but modified.

I will defend the fact that it is not a mortal sin to call a 777-300ER a 777-300.
