A little to consider here (I don’t jump to conclusions immediately):

If the landing really was that much harder than normal, enough to cause serious physical harm to a person, why didn’t anyone else apart from that one flight attendant get injured as a result of it?

No damage was reported to the aircraft and landing gear whatsoever. If a plane really landed that much harder than the aircraft’s structural limits for normal operations, the airframe would suffer damage to a certain extent, depending on the impact.

Someone’s spine being fractured is definitely undesirable, but would a potential overrun be any more desirable, considering that it would affect operations of the entire airport and possibly even streets and neighborhoods just outside the airport limits?
