Well, after a bit of researching on SkyVector, 24L has a displaced threshold of about 800ft, and considering that the nose only started to rise just after the 5k marker, they could have used about 6000-6500ft for the takeoff, like you said.
Still, 6500 for a 17-hour flight is actually not bad, especially for such a large aircraft.
