So, the two Bogland Air Force CMSgts, Sergeant Cassidy Duncan and Sergeant Claire Tunstall were practicing in the Mach Loop starting around three hours ago. They were accompanied by a refueler for their extended practice. Shortly after their third refuel, another group of planes started to practice at the Mach Loop. The group, the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron, better known as the USAF Thunderbirds, began zipping around the Mach Loop with the two sergeants. One of their commanders, CMSgt Timothy Johnson, asked the two sergeants if they wanted to do a couple exercises with them, which they agreed to. Since the Bogland Air Force CMSgts were pretty good with aerobatics, the two sergeants had no trouble performing a couple tricks with the Thunderbirds. After that, the two sergeants began flying in a pack about five nautical miles ahead of the Thunderbirds in a reflection formation, with Sergeant Tunstall flying her F-16N right way up and Sergeant Duncan flying upside down directly below her. Contrary to popular belief, this was not a stunt, but rather an exercise to test how how precise a pilot could fly their plane. It’s a popular exercise among the Special Forces and Air Force pilots, but not so much with the Navy. Anyway, they were in this formation, exceeding Mach 1.1, when Sergeant Tunstall’s F-16N struck a raven. The impact caused her engine to sputter and overheat. Sergeant Tunstall pulled out of the formation and climbed to 5000 feet AGL, reducing power during the climb, with Sergeant Duncan not too far behind. The planes managed to safely land at RAF Mildenhall. After the planes landed, mechanics discovered that the plane’s GE F110 engine was only several minutes from bursting into flames. Sergeant Tunstall’s decision to reduce power on the engine was what prevented it from bursting into flames immediately. Sergeant Tunstall’s General Dynamics F-16N Fighting Falcon was repaired rather easily. Sergeant Duncan and Sergeant Tunstall returned to the Mach Loop as soon as her plane was deemed fit to fly.

Delta Air Lines is considering starting a flight from Bogland to Kahului. This route will utilize their Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, just like their route to Honolulu.

wait what
